The Harden & District Picnic Race Club awarded Life Memberships to Chris Heywood and Eric Kuhn at the Picnic Races on Saturday as a vote of thanks for more than two decades of service. Chris has been involved with the club for more than twenty-five years, having started at the age of sixteen. Since then, he has helped look after the track, organise tents and marquees, and even travelled over from Young to help when he was living there. Eric hasn’t missed a single race since the Picnic Races were first held in 1980, and has been involved with the club for the last 10 to 12 years. He is often out at the racetrack working when others are unable to get there. “It’s a team job,” said Eric. “Eric is always the first to arrive at the working bees, and always the last to leave,” said Harden & District Picnic Race Club President, Charlie Dyball. He added that both men had helped the club out tremendously.
