Feature artist Stephanie Corkhill-Hyles.
Mark in your diary the cultural event of the year for Jugiong – the sixth biennial exhibition held at the Memorial Hall with more than 170 works from mainly rural artist. The very talented Stephanie Corkhill Hyles from Jugiong, is the feature artist for this year. Stephanie’s works are from the heart and her aim is to move the viewer, whether it be a smile, a laugh, a tear or just to make them think differently about something.
“My art practice is something I love and I appreciate that it is a gift to share with others. My art making is a part of my daily practice, whether it be drawing, painting, etching or researching. I think artists look at the world differently and appreciate all things. It’s a great way to look at the world!” Jugiong artist Angie Fitzgerald’s chalk pastel drawing ‘Long Plain Colt’ is our exhbitition raffle which she has kindly donated.
The drawing will be displayed at the Jugiong Wine Cellar – where you can purchase raffle tickets and RSVP to the cocktail party. The weekend kicks off with a cocktail party and opening at 7:00pm till 10:00pm ($35.00 per person) at the Memorial Hall on Friday 20 November. This is followed by two days of exhibition on Saturday 21 November and Sunday 22 November from 10:00am till 4:00pm with delicious food available at the exhibition.
