Harden Horse Trials held a very busy event last weekend. Over 200 riders and their families (most arriving on Friday) converged on the Harden Showgrounds. Despite the weather being unpleasant at times and very wet underfoot, there were only a few minor scratching’s. The Horse Trials committee and helpers, had been working very hard to get this event up and running, working every weekend for the last three months, rain, hail or shine to make this event happen.

This year was particularly busy as new cross country jumps were installed around the course and old jumps demolished. All the jumps had to be renumbered and many repairs done on the old ones. Because of the wet weather our creek crossings had to be made safe so that an ambulance and crash crew could cross if needed.

Our local area riders went well. Olivia Howe riding her first 1star on ‘King Thing’ did really well in the dressage section  coming 4th. The course was very slippery and tough so there were many penalties by all riders at this level. EVA 105 class, 1st Nat Blundell on Summer Rhythm. EVA 95 8th Nat Blundell on Heart of Honneur, Alyssa Brown riding Country Gentleman came 19th. EVA 80, Olivia Howe on Joey, 14th. EVA 80 Junior. Abigail Davis riding My Turbulence came 10th. EVA 60 1st Nat Blundell riding Black Galaxy, EVA 60 Junior, Natalie Trethowan riding Blue and Oakey came 5th and 6th. Karissa Guest riding Max came 10th. EVA45 Junior 3rd Chloe Ward.
