Zac Allen, Mat Thirtle and Matt Schofiled completing the rose plantings near Thompson’s Rural Supplies in Neill Street.
Council has recently resolved to fund the first stage of a Streetscape related unifying avenue tree planting on Albury Street. The planting will consist of Crepe Myrtle, ‘biloxi’, otherwise known as Lagerstroemia indica x L. fauriei, a pale pink purple flowering small tree. The first stage will be planted from Short to Stair Streets, forming part of an overall avenue extending from Short to Iris Streets. The planting on both sides of the street is to be situated between existing path and kerb line and will replace some trees that are currently either deemed to have structural issues or have been misshaped due to power line pruning activities.
Landowners/occupiers directly fronting the planting zone are receiving a letter box advice prior to works commencing. It is anticipated that works will commence in late winter and continue into the spring of 2015. Any further information can be gained by contacting the Council office between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00 pm on 6386 0100.
