Hawkettes Jessica Doolan passing the ball in the Hawkettes win over the Tigerettes
The Harden Hawketts had a very successful day last Saturday, defeating Bungendore in the match and clinching the George Tooke Shield Minor Premiership.
“It was one of the better games they played all year,” said Coach Kyle Murray. “They really stepped up.”
The girls made up for their two point loss against Bungendore in Harden with a dominating performance at a very windy Mick Sherd Oval. Tries were scored by Paige Potts, Grace Smith, Emma James and Jess Doolan. Doolan converted one goal, with Georgia Murray scoring two.
Emma James returned to the paddock to bring the Hawkettes back to their full complement, with 19 players turning up for the match at Bungendore.
In the Best & Fairest, Grace Smith received three points, Jess Doolan received two points and Meg Perceval received one.
The club is eagerly the results of the Bungundore v Boomanulla game this weekend, after ADFA forfeited their match against Harden for both the girls and boys. If Boomanulla defeat Bungendore, the Harden Hawks will be Minor Premiers.
