The Harden Kennel Club Dog Show will be held at the Showground next week, and is expected to attract visitors from all over the state. The event will be held over three days from Friday July 24th to Sunday the 26th. “There will be around 120 different varieties of dogs at the show,” said Harden Kennel Club Secretary, Marlene West. “We have seven judges coming in from interstate. 4 from Victoria, 2 from South Australia and 1 from Western Australia.”
The event is being sponsored by the Bendigo Bank to the tune of $2,000, with the Sunday being known as Bendigo Bank Day. Saturday is Purple Day, with fun events such as gumboot throwing taking place for ‘tots’ all the way through to seniors, with prizes for each age group. A raffle for the SnowyHydro South Care Helicopter will also be drawn on the day, with all proceeds going to that cause.
The Show will also support community businesses and organisations, with prizes being supplied by Harden Honey and Cunningar Olives, and the Deep Hole Fishing Club and Sweet & Sour Lollies will be selling food and sweets.
