Harden Hawkette Molly Fredericks gets a perfectly timed pass away on Saturday during the Hawkettes match against the Yass Girlpies.

The Harden Hawkettes put on a dominating display against arch rivals, the Girl Pies from Yass last Saturday, winning the game 32-12. The Hawkettes’ kicking game was exemplary, ensuring that they maintained superiority in field position throughout the game by keeping the Girl Pies in their own 30 metre zone. Emma James again directed play, putting intense pressure on the opposition full back by chasing her own kicks. Her kicking efforts kept the Girl Pies down in their own half.

Georgia Smith split the Yass defence up the middle, scoring her try without anyone touching her. Georgia has become accustomed to individual try scoring efforts, often running 30 or 40 metres in broken play to score.

Emma Manwaring was at her elusive best, scoring a long range try and blitzing the opposition with her speed. Georgie Butt was a rock at fullback, taking the high Yass kicks with ease. Sarah Hearne scored a try in the second half, after a quick dash up the right-hand side. Holly Fisher snavelled herself a try after pouncing on a loose ball in the opposition in goal area.

Playmaker Jess Doolan also scored for the Hawkettes, whilst Georgia Murray put on a superb performance, scoring two tries and converting three with the boot. After running rampant against Yass at home, the Hawkettes will now travel to play the Yass Girl Pies this weekend at Yass.
