Marlene West, secretary of the Harden Kennel club, is over the moon with the response the club has had for its three day dog show this weekend. To be held at the Harden Murrumburrah Show ground it will begin on Friday, continue on Saturday where they have 566 dogs registered. From July 24-26 over 1,600 dogs will be at the show ground, covering 106 breeds ranging from the tiny pomeranians and chihuahua to huge great danes. Entrants and their owners will travel from Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and around the district. Four of the Judges are coming from Victoria, two from South Australia and one from Western Australia. Marlene said, “It is excellent to have interstate judges as they bring fresh eyes to a show.” Sunday will be known as Bendigo Bank Day with sponsorship to the tune of $2,000. On Saturday, there will be fun events and the SnowyHydro South Care Helicopter raffle will be drawn. Local businesses benefit from events such as the dog show. Prizes will be supplied by Harden Honey and Cunningar Olives. The Deep Hole Fishing Club and Sweet & Sour Lollies will be selling food and sweets.The Club invites residents to see for themselves the beautiful dogs on show over the weekend.
