Harden Swimming Club members Ryan Daley of Murrumburrah High School and Clementine Flanery of Murrumburrah Public School have both qualified to compete at the State swimming carnival in Homebush. The pair proved themselves at the local level and earned themselves a spot at the meet in Sydney.
Ryan qualified for both the 50 metres and 100 metres, qualifying with times of 37 seconds and 1 minute and 24 seconds respectively. He plays under 15s South West Soccer, and has also played water polo.
Clementine qualified for the 50 metres freestyle under 12s girls event, shaving a full 2 seconds off her personal best to set a time of 44.8 seconds to qualify. She is also the co-captain of the Harden Junior Cricket team playing against Cootamundra this weekend in the Grand Final. Clementine is also trying out for the under 14s NSW Country soccer side.
Both Ryan and Clementine train each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm ten weeks of the year with the Harden Swimming Club.
This swimming season has proved to be an extraordinary one for the Harden Swimming Club, with sixteen records dating back to the year 2000 being broken in this season’s Swimming Club Championship.
