The development application (DA) for the Harden-Murrumburrah skate park was given Harden Shire Council’s consent at the 26 November business meeting.
The DA, an initiative of Councillor’s and interested parents of the Harden Skate Park Committee, has now been approved, with fundraising set to continue.
The estimated $250,000 skate park project represents a significant investment in Harden-Murrumburrah’s youth, and in the recreational infrastructure of the town itself.
Council has pledged $130,000 to the project, with the difference to be made up by community fundraising efforts wih the hope of some corporate sponsorship.
The Harden Skate Park Committee is awaiting the result of a $100,000 grant application, the outcome of which will be announced later this month.
