On Friday, 7th November 2014, Harden Shire Council will make available to local residents, for purchase, the first loads of shredded green garden waste.
The mulched product is available from the Harden-Murrumburrah Transfer Station site on Araluen Road on Friday between 1pm and 3pm. The product will cost local residents $10/cubic metre.
The product is the green waste branches, logs, stumps, clippings and other garden materials that are self-hauled to the transfer station by local residents.
Council has engaged a commercial contractor to shred and grind the material into the mulched product. No commercial sales will be conducted as this product is being made available specifically for the local residents of the Shire.
Council will be mechanically loading all product that is sold and will only load utes or trailers; there will be no bag or bin sales.
Mayor John Horton says “This great initiative of Council is to provide a product, at a reasonable cost, to the local residents of Harden to not only assist in beautifying their gardens to improve the aesthetics of the town, but to also reduce water consumption in the gardens by protecting the soil from drying out.”
This product will only be available for purchase by the residents of the Shire when there is excess stock at the Harden-Murrumburrah transfer station site.
Should there be any questions regarding this initiative please contact Council’s Customer Service during office hours on 6386 0100.
