A single vehicle accident occured about 4.26pm at Galong on Saturday the 15/11/2014. A 26yr old female from Birrong was driving her Ford Laser sedan on an easterly direction upon the Burley Griffin Way approx 600mtrs west of Bouyeo Rd.
The driver failed to negotiate a slight right hand bend in the road and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of the road and spun 180 degrees and collided with a large tree.
A witness who saw the impact, stopped to help and found the driver unconscious with the doors locked. A short time later the driver woke up and unlocked the doors enabling the witness to help.
The driver was transported from the scene to Canberra Hospital by Ambulance suffering shock and lacerations to her head.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and Police are continuing investigations.
