Harden Shire Council is continuing with their investigation into the demolition material dumped at Shea’s Pit on the Back Demondrille Road on Monday October 13.

Harden Shire Council General Manager Max Kershaw said the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a preliminary report stating that no asbestos was found on the site. He also stated that a clean up order has been issued to the contractor and that Harden Shire Council will continue to liaise with the contractor to resolve the issue.

The sight is deemed to be contaminated by the building rubble as it does not fit the development consent of ‘virgin excavated material’.
