The Twin Towns Rodeo will ride again after a group of very interested locals got together recently to discuss the possibility of reviving the format which made Harden Murrumburrah well known in Rodeo circles.
Secretary Kristy Brown said “We all wanted to get it up and running again, when we were kids we had so much fun and we want it to be the same for our kids and the next generation.”
The committee has just held it’s 5th meeting and will be incorporated soon.
Kristy said “We face plenty of challenges including fixing the arena, covering the cost of insurances and fees and raising awareness. None of that can happen without serious fundraising, so we are starting from scratch.”
The first fundraiser will be raffle with 1st prize a photography session with Chontelle valued at $380, 2nd prize a load of wood or $150 and third prize a dressed lamb.
The last rodeo held in Harden was around 2006 and anyone interested in helping or joining the committee can call Kristy on 0431 748 213. The date has been set for 22/11/2015.
