The Autism Journey can be a lonely one and it is often hard to find out who to talk to and where to get help.
The Harden Autism Support Group hopes to help fill these gaps by gathering and providing information, as well as offering support no matter if you have just started your journey or have been travelling for a long time.
The group will operate to suit the needs of those who attend, and is open to anyone living in the Harden or surrounding areas, who lives with Autism in some way.
One of the organisers, Cathy Argento said, “you don’t have to have a child attending school to come along. I have Autism too, which wasn’t diagnosed until I was over 40yrs old. It certainly explained a lot of things about my life and there are things that I have achieved that I never would have if I didn’t have Autism. My son has Autism too and it is completely different for him, as it is for each person with Autism. So please if you are living with Autism in ANY way, come along and have a cuppa and a chat.”
The first meeting of The Harden Autism Support group is scheduled for Monday 20th October at 10.30am. The meeting will be held at the Murrumburrah Public School. Entry is via the Drop In Centre Door. You do not have to have a child attending Murrumburrah Public School to attend.
