The Semi-Finals of the George Tooke Shield Women’s Touch Football competition were held last Saturday at Binalong.

The minor premiers the Binalong Jersey Girls defeated the Yass Girlpies in the major semi-final 9-3.

Bronwyn Pollack led the way for Binalong scoring three touchdowns while Madaline Brayshaw and Lisa Smith scored two touchdowns. Jess Howard and Rachel Fletcher chimed in with a touchdown each.

Casey Edwards played very well for Yass scoring two touchdowns and Sartu Beck scored a touchdown. In the minor semi-final the Bungendore Tigerettes led 3-1 at half-time only to go down 6-5 to the Harden Hawkettes in a thriller.

Kate Menz, Farah Atallah and Emma James were outstanding for the Hawkettes. Emma James scored two tries and is a player of the future. Kate Menz, Clare Smith, Shauny McEvoy and Emma Manwaring also scored tries.

Megan Brown and Cassie fisher led the way for Bungendore and scored for their side with Georgia Buckley, Courtney Doyle and Kody-Leigh Hirst also getting across the white line.

Binalong will progress to the Grand Final while the Yass Girlpies will play the Harden Hawkettes in the Final on Saturday at Harden. Bungendore who have played very well under the guidance of Matt Pateman are eliminated from the finals race.
