The trial of nose-in and parallel parking in the areas of Station, Neill and East Streets was voted for on Wednesday night at the Harden Shire Council monthly meeting.
After completing a survey of business owners and residents in Neill Street, results showed support from 75% of those surveyed wanting to retain the trialled parking arrangements as their choice of parking.
Council has also decided to install nose-in parking in the western end of Neill Street and in front of the Trinity Centre to provide a uniform parking strategy.
Much debate has centred around the changes in parking and locals are voicing their opinions on the lack of parking in Neill Street after the Foodworks Supermarket ceased trading at the end of June. This may become a matter for Council to investigate in the future.
