The Harden Hawks travelled to Bungendore on Saturday in cool conditions.
The Hawks were minus quite a few of their squad. They started well with a try to Daniel Drew to make it 4 nil. The much bigger Bungendore side were determined to play a physical match with the Hawks.
The Hawks class began to show and they went on the attack and were awarded a penalty with Abed Atallah slotting it between the uprights. 6-0.
Captain Coach Luke Brown in his first game back after 4 weeks off, scored a great try to inspire his troops before half time. Goal converted by Atallah 12-0.
Bungendore fought back in the second half to make it 12 all with 15 minutes to go. The Hawks knew that defence would mean a draw but attack may mean a win.
Daniel Drew scored a brilliant try and with the extras added they got home against a fast finishing Tigers side 18-12.
Best for Harden were Jon Hill, Tyson Astill, Alex Pirie, Brent Turner, Nic Fuller and Luke Brown. Rookies Michael West and Josh Quinn continue to improve each week. The experience of Abed Atallah was priceless in guiding the younger side around the paddock.
The Hawks now take on Binalong, in what will be a great game, on Saturday at McLean Oval.
