Nick Heywood continues to impress in his first year as an apprentice jockey. The 18 year old rode 3 winners on Saturday at Wagga Wagga and also brought home a 2nd and a 3rd from his 7 rides.
Nick transferred his apprenticeship from Peter Clancy at Leeton to work with his father Chris Heywood at Wagga 4 months ago.
In his 168 rides so far he has claimed 17 winners, 24 2nds and 15 3rds. This gives Nick a win percentage of 10.3 percent and a place percentage of 33.3 percent.
Nick’s 3 winners on Saturday included: “Grey Drama” trained by John Marzol $3.50. “Yet To Be Convinced” trained by Scott Spackman $2.90 and “Mitchell Road” trained by his father Chris at $3.70.
Nick will ride again in Wagga on Friday before heading to Corowa this weekend.
