Bede Davis of Demondrille Merino Stud has recently been honoured with a 50 Year Certificate for Wool Classing by the Australian Wool Exchange.
Official records for this Award began in the 1960s where as Bede himself began wool classing when he was sixteen, whilst working on his parent’s farm and others around the district.
In 1954 Bede won the Cootamundra Flock Ewe Competition which at the time was the biggest in the state outside of Sydney.
Bede was always interested in Sheep and Wool. He was classing at Tallangi Merino Stud in Boorowa in the early 80’s before setting up and registering Demondrille Merino Stud in 1983.
The Stud has won many prestigious awards over the years and was taken over by Patrick and Andrew Davis in 2001. The brothers continue to breed high quality, award winning merinos.
Congratulations Bede and a great achievement.
