Brent ‘Dicky’ Turner has returned to the Maroon and Whites for the 2014 season and will add plenty of experience and aggression to the young side, in their attempt to win their first premiership since 2009.
Turner has become one of the most accomplished forwards in the Canberra competition and won Best and Fairest for West Belconnen in their 1st Grade side in 2013.
Brent played all of his junior Rugby League in Harden-Murrumburrah and was a part of the U18 side that was defeated by Tumut alongside ‘new’ recruit Abed Atallah.
Brent played hooker in his junior days, moved into the back row and then the front row in recent years but possesses the ability to play anywhere in the forwards.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011 Brent turned out for the Binalong Brahmans and then went on to play for West Belconnen in 2012 and 13.
Brent said he hopes to win it with the ‘boys’ and couldn’t resist the lure of a chance at a premiership with childhood friends.
The rumour mill has been in overdrive of late with speculation rife, that several other former Hawks are in talks to return to the side in the coming weeks.
The Harden Hawks will be fielding a ladies Touch football side on Friday night at 7pm before the men kick off at 7:30pm Mclean Oval.
