February, 2014 saw a major change in the structure of Masonary in Harden when the local Lodge, Federal Burrowa, was renamed as Federal United. This has come about with the sale of the Cootamundra Masonic Centre and that lodge and many of its members have been amalgamated into the renamed Federal United that meets in Harden.

The newly named lodge, recieved its new Charter in February at a special event to mark the occasion. The Lodge membership is now one of the largest in the region and has many younger and and new members who are making their progression through the various offices of the Lodge ensuring it secure future.

The Grand Master was represented by the regional Grand Councillor, RW Bro Geoff Ludowyk who was accompanied by a very large contingent of Grand Lodge members. Visitors attended, with their wives, from Young, Yass, Boorowa, Canberra, Temora and one member flew in from Perth.

The wives of the members were entertained at the Harden Bowling Club by Mrs Bev Maloney, assisted by her friend Keren Walker, who demonstarted the art of candle making which was of great interest to and appreciated by many of the ladies present.

After the completion of the formal business of the new Federal United Lodge the Master, Ken Donoghue, led the gathering of 86 to a Chinese banquet in the auditorium of the Harden Bowling Club.

During the banquet he drew attention to the improvements taking place in the Harden Lodge room with air-conditioning being installed throughout the building.

Improvements in the kitchen and the proposal to have the whole of the inside of the building painted over the next few months. All of these improvements will add to the comfort of attending members and visitors and make the building a very pleasant place to attend Lodge activities.
