Busy Time For Harden Can Assist

The September meeting was held on Wednesday 2nd September, with a good attendance. Thank you to those that were able to be there – your input was very valued.

The September raffle is being held on Thursday 17th and Saturday 19th September. Once again, Carol is looking for assistance to sell and would very much appreciate your call to her 0488 803 794. Please consider helping for a couple of hours – we will provide everything including warm blankets (if needed)!

The raffle is the start of our Christmas raffle to be drawn at the December Xmas meeting/dinner 2nd December:
1st prize: $500 worth of vouchers
2nd prize: $300 worth of vouchers
3rd prize: $200 worth of vouchers.
All vouchers are from our local businesses.

At the meeting it was advised Steve is almost at $30,000 mark with his Cans for Can Assist! This is no mean feat and every cent raised goes to Harden branch. Let’s help him get there before the next meeting in October.

A reminder if you are having a function of any kind, please call him to provide a dedicated bin for your cans and bottles – less cleanup for you and he will come back to remove the bin for you. Can Assist would love to hear from you 0422 284 962.

Can Assist has now received more bins so you will see them around in more places throughout the area. Please use them and if you see any overflowing or issues, please call Steve or one of the committee members to have emptied etc.

Recent events have been very successful and received a lot of publicity and wonderful feedback. Head Office has highlighted these in the latest edition of Branching Out. If you haven’t received yours please return email and you will be forwarded a copy.

Membership is now overdue and remains at $10 per year. Please either drop into Ohana Collection in Murrumburrah, who collect on our behalf, or pay via bank transfer via

Can Assist are always looking for new members to join the branch and would welcome anyone looking to do so. Please, if you know of anyone wanting to join let us know so we can get a membership form to them or go online to complete. Members or volunteers are always welcome and encouraged.

The Harden branch are holding its AGM on Wednesday 7th October at the Trinity Centre, East St Harden. Everyone is welcome to attend at 6pm. All positions are vacant and the Branch would appreciate anyone willing to assist by taking on a position to attend. Please note – you must be a financial member to vote and/or take on a position.

As there are a few people whose email has changed or hasn’t provided an email address, could you please forward this to them. Also, if you do not wish to continue membership, please let us know so we can update our data base. We are very reliant on our membership information for
communication, as is Head Office. Your assistance is very much appreciated.

If you or any family member is requiring assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us on 6386 3561. All information is confidential and treated with the utmost respect.
