Another community activity initiated by the Rotary Club of Murrumburrah Harden has got all of the local crafters busy and occupied.
The call went out via flyers and Facebook in late May and by early June, knitted and crotched squares started to be delivered to the Book Nook ready to be sewn together by Carol Fisher and others into a large rug. The rugs will be used as a knee rug or bed cover.
Some crafty people also made beanies.
By the third week of June, Murrumburrah Harden Nursing Home residents received beautiful rugs, knitted or crocheted by the community, and were delivered by Rotarians Rita O’Connor and Karen
Tanswell.
Harden Grange Aged Care residents will be receiving rugs in the near future as the call has gone out again. Sufficient squares were already available last week for Gail Prosser to sew together the first rug.
There are various catch lines in the promotional flyer – the most significant is “Let’s wrap our community in warmth.”
