Last Wednesday, Murrumburrah Public School hosted authors Kate and Jol Temple as a part of Hilltops Library LitUp event.
LitUp is a live literature initiative from Australia Reads, providing opportunities for more
Australian schools and communities to host events with authors and illustrators.
Students and teachers from Murrumburrah High School, Trinity Primary School and Jugiong
Public School joined in for this fantastic event. Kate and Jol entertained with giant undies, bin chickens, fearsome frog and mega rich guinea pigs. They also shared their wisdom about writing and illustrating and how to be a good author even when things get hard. Jol even taught the students to draw his famous and rich G-Chip guinea pig.
Students listened intently as Jol recited several books including No Room on Our Rock and
Bin Chicken.
It was a great event which students enjoyed immensely.
I loved when Jol Temple taught us how to draw G-Chip and read to us from their Frog Squad

It was so funny when Kate a Jol used the giant undies as a slingshot and I enjoyed hearing
about their books and what they were about. My favourite book was Bin Chicken. Lewis Sommer
I enjoyed the Kate and Jol Temple visit because it was interesting to understand what It’s like
