Harden Hawkettes Soar in 2026 George Tooke Shield League Tag Campaign
Harden is again made proud as the Hawkettes continue to fly the flag high at the 2026 Blumers Lawyers George Took Shield Ladies League Tag competition.
For the Hawkettes (perennial contenders and multiple-time premiers, including back-to-
back titles in 2018 to 2019) the 2026 has started swimmingly, with several strong victories showcasing their trademark defensive solidity, speed and morale.
In Round 6 the Hawkettes hosted the North Canberra Bears at McClean Oval, scoring 44 to 22.
The team’s collective attacking firepower has been evident in their slew of high-scoring outings, proving they really are the team to beat!
The team currently boast an enviable record in the George Tooke Shield Ladies League Tag, with multiple premierships to their name since entering the competition around 2015. They celebrated a decade of the club in 2025 with a past-versus-present match, and remain one of the most respected outfits in the southern NSW and ACT rugby league community.
Fans at McLean Oval have been vocal in their support, creating a cauldron atmosphere for home games as the side chases another tilt at the title.
With the regular season continuing to unfold, the Hawkettes are looking at further solidifying their ladder position to build on their impressive record as they go against rival teams such as Cootamundra, Crookwell and Boorowa.
As the 2026 Tooke Shield heads towards the business end of the season, all eyes will be on the Hawkettes to see whether they can add another chapter to their already successful story.

Round 1: Won 50-6 versus Googong Goannas League Tag
Round 2: Won 48 to 0 versus Snowy River Bears League Tag
Round 3: Drew 16 to 16 versus Bungendore Tigerettes
Round 4: Won 56 to 4 versus UC Stars League Tag
Round 5: Won 16 to 6 versus Crookwell She Devils
Round 6: Won 44 to 22 versus North Canberra Bears
