On Saturday both Harden Red Devils teams hosted Grenfell in a cracking day of rugby.
First off the women’s team were hard at work. Grenfell got off the mark first and Harden quickly replied with a try of their own. Grenfell however held out Harden for the rest of the half with a try being the difference at half time.
The second half saw both teams score a try each and finish up the game at 14-19 Grenfell’s way. A cracking game of footy and what a tight finish.

In the mens game, about 15 minutes into the game the Harden men were up by 14 points, then the rain started. Harden hadn’t played in rain for almost 2 years so things got a little messy! One more try to finish the half and Harden lead 19-0 at half time.
The second Half was a grind. Every time Harden looked to be about to score, errors kept them out. Grenfell’s defence stood tall and they held Harden to only one more try for the second half. The defensive effort from Harden was outstanding, Grenfell never got within 5 meters of our line the whole game and its a real credit to the mens efforts! Final Score 26-0.

Players player – Birthday boy, Johnny Manch! Next weekend both teams will have a well deserved break for the long weekend. Then off to West Wyalong for what will be without a doubt, a great contest of rugby.
A special catch-up with a true Devil.
During the week, Hugo welcomed former player Straw and a group of old teammates and friends for a catch-up and to share memories of the club’s early years.
Straw, who played for the Devils throughout the mid-1970s and early 1980s, was the writer of the Devils club song and played a significant role during that era. He remains a much-loved figure among many who were part of those memorable years.
