We have a very busy (but exciting) few months ahead for Harden Can Assist.
Our annual debutante ball is being held at the Mechanics Institute on Friday 22 May, with 8 Debs being presented on the night. Organisation is well in hand, and we are looking forward to another wonderful night for these young people.
A fabulous raffle has been organised once again. We have booked to have sellers in front of IGA on Friday 22nd May. If you are able to assist with selling the tickets on the day Carol would be very pleased to hear from you – 0433 803 794.
We also have preparations for our 25th Year Celebrations well in hand. A luncheon will be held on Saturday 18 July at the Harden Country Club. $33 pp starting at 12 noon.
Bookings can be made at the Ohana Collection in Murrumburrah, with payment to be made at the time of booking. We encourage all members or anyone interested to book as soon as possible. There will be some interesting speakers and light entertainment to be enjoyed. A number of former residents are expected to return for the event – it will be wonderful to catch up with them and reminisce on how the branch started.
Normally, we would be having our winter shut down for June to August, however we have decided to have a meeting on June 3rd and July 1st due to preparations for the 25th Celebrations. We would love to see anyone interested attending at 6pm on both days.
Our Mother’s Day raffle was held and again well supported; Glenda Miller was the very lucky winner. Thank you to those who helped sell tickets.
For the first time this year our branch laid a wreath at the ANZAC Day ceremony. We are very pleased to be invited to take part in remembering those who sacrificed to make our country the amazing place we have to live in today.
Sacred Syndicate SMC are having their annual blanket run this Saturday 16th May, starting at 9am from Zac’s Place in Albury Street, heading to Boorowa and Yass before returning to the Harden Bowling Club to conclude around 2 -2.30pm. Zac’s Place and Harden Can Assist are the beneficiaries once again – if you are able to support this event, they would be very pleased to see you at either place.
Our Cans for Can Assist initiative has now reached $26k raised! Thank you to everyone that donates to this and Steve for his tenacity in driving this fabulous fund raiser.
