For their 12th year, the Harden Historic Truck and Tractor Club held their annual show on Sunday, 8 March.
Packed to the brim with entertainment, Truck and Tractor Show Committee President, Roger Kershaw, says it was a stark difference to how the show looked like five years ago as they further establish themselves as an event not to be missed.
“We’re going to work much harder and try to do a few extra things [in the future],” he says.
“Possibly a few other attractions to try and hold the crowd.”
Introduced last year, Roger says the inclusion of a large marquee in the centre of the oval for collective shade to enjoy a cold drink or two, was largely popular.
“A new addition this year was a sand pit for the little kids, and it was a very popular spot to be,” he says.
Although the wind picked up at certain times during the day, Roger says it ended with “absolutely terrific weather”.
“It was not too hot,” he says.
“There were storms on the Saturday afternoon, but everything was alright.”
In terms of continuing their trend in “bigger and bettering” the show, Roger says they will meet to review what worked and what might be improved.
“At this stage, if we can get the legalities of it sorted out, we may have a tractor pull next year,” he says.
“Everyone’s asking about them, but that’ll be a vintage tractor pull for the old tractors.”
According to Roger, this could be a popular event the future as something that “draws a crowd and holds [it]”.
The committee will be meeting soon to discuss future plans.
