2025 Young Woman of the Year Isabel Duke. Isabel will now go to Eugowra to compete in the Zone 6 Finals in February.
Isabel Duke won Young Woman of the Year at the Harden Show on 15 November and will now represent Murrumburrah-Harden at the Zone 6 finals at Eugowra on February 28.
Isabel said, “It was a great opportunity and such a great learning curve to be nominated and picked for it. “Next up, I head to Dubbo for a personal development weekend for young women. I head to that in January, and then I head to Eugowra in February for the finals.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity to meet new friends and meet other young women in the community surrounding town.”
Isabel gave some words of advice for any women looking to enter next year.
“Just to give it your best go and get in and get involved in the community. It’s not scary at all. It works to give it your best.”
Isabel does quite a lot around the community, working with the local football and doing work at Thompson’s Rural Supplies.
“I’m 19. I play rugby and coach rugby for the Harden Junior Devils and for the Harden Senior Devils girls team. I’ve been competing at horse shows at a high level and have also been competing at the Ag shows, and I love supporting those.
“A massive thank you to the sponsors and the committee for running it and keeping it going.”
Kyogle Show will be hosting the Zone 1 Final of the Young Woman of the Year Competition next year. AGShows NSW said it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the community spirit and hospitality as they welcome representatives from across the two Groups. The night aims to celebrate the achievements, confidence, and leadership of inspiring young women. The 137th Harden Show was a massive success with working dogs, wood chopping and a rodeo to give plenty who attended a day of fantastic events.
