On Saturday, November 22, the Harden-Murrumburrah Anglican Church Op Shop on Albury Street will hold a Super Saturday Sale from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, giving the Twin Towns a bargain. Everything will be half price, and bags of books will be there for only $2.
Mandy James of the Anglican Op Shop gave us insight into what will be available on the day.
“Everything from bric-a-brac, clothing, shoes, everything will be half price, and it will be the last one for the year. We are hoping to clear out from summer stock, and then we will close next month for the Christmas period,” she said.
“It is just a way of saying thank you to the community for their patronage and to enable them to buy some quality stuff at cheap prices.
“All but the last one has been really good. The last one was a bit slow. It was one of those weeks when it was raining all week and cold, and nobody wanted to go out, but normally we get a good turn up and we get quite a few travellers calling in. They see the flags, the balloons, and because it’s a Saturday, they normally have the time to pull in. Our sales usually do nicely on a Saturday.

“It is definitely more locals that turn up. It would probably be 80% locals, 20% travellers or people from Coota or Young.
“We have regulars that come over from both Coota and Young when we have a sale on. We do put posters over there in both towns just to let people know, and we do get some people, but mostly it’s our locals, which is really what we want.”
The Op Shop are getting ready to shut up shop for the year, as many places are, but is looking forward to 2026.

“It has been really good. It’s been really busy. Our volunteers have done a wonderful job all year, getting us through because we’ve had quite a large selection of donations left for us. We did have a couple of really bad rounds of rubbish dumped, but the public stepped in and helped us there, too. Somebody came and picked it up and took it away to the dump for us.
“Unfortunately, we were left a large array of furniture a couple of weeks ago. We’re down to only two items left, and they really need to go to the tip. We’ll put a call out for people to please help us, and hopefully somebody will again.
“We have had some really good donations, there’s been some good stuff, and the volunteers have worked hard all year to sort it, iron it, present it and sell it.”
