On Friday, the MPS Rugby Union team and Girls Rugby 7s team travelled to Cowra to compete in the State Semi-Finals.
Both teams have been training hard and were eager to take the field.
The MPS Girls Rugby 7s team played first and, with the support and direction of Mr Shean, scored the opening try. Their strong teamwork and dominance throughout the game were evident. Both teams displayed great determination and sportsmanship, but the MPS girls came out on top with a well-deserved win. This is a tremendous effort by the girls, and they will now travel to Sydney to compete in the State Grand Final for 1st or 2nd place.

The boys took the field later in the day under tough, hot conditions. Despite the heat, both sides played with great spirit and showcased strong rugby skills. It was a fantastic game marked by effort, sportsmanship and teamwork from both schools. In the end, Orange Public School came away with the win. The boys should be very proud of themselves for making it to fourth in the state and for the determination, teamwork and sportsmanship they showed throughout the competition.
We congratulate both teams on a great game and wish Orange PS all the best in the Grand Final. A huge thank you goes to our parents and carers for transporting and supporting the teams. You continually go above and beyond, and we truly appreciate it. We would also like to thank the Waratahs Development Officer for refereeing and supporting the players. Lastly, Mr Shean for his continued training and mentoring. You truly go above and beyond with all our sports teams at school, and we are grateful. Well done to everyone involved!
