Sky’s the Limit for 2025 Kite Festival

The Harden blue sky brightens up with all sorts of colours as many kites take flight at the Harden

Kite Festival on October 11 at the Harden Racecourse from 10:00 am. The official opening will be at 11:00 am.

The annual event has free activities and entertainment for all ages, cultural performances, kite decorating workshops and delicious food trucks.

Not just that, but also market stalls, rides and much more. Bring your own kite, or you can buy one on the day. Entry is a $2 donation per person, and all-day ride passes are $20, with three for $50.

The Harden Kite Festival offers free parking to all on-site.

The Festivals ask that you follow all directions given by event staff, volunteers, and traffic marshals. Limited accessible parking is available on-site as well.

The Harden Kite Festival said, “Upon arrival, please show event staff, volunteers, and traffic marshals your parking permit, and you will be directed to the reserved accessible parking.

There will also be a designated drop-off/pick-up bay for those not wishing to park or for buses/ride-shares. Strictly no parking in these spaces.

Time is of the essence in the drop-off bay; please be courteous to others needing the space.

“Harden Kite Festival is a 21-minute walk from Harden Station. You can register on the festival day. All welcome.”

The Festival said dogs are permitted to attend as long as they are on a lead at all times.

The event will go ahead in the rain or shine. It will only be cancelled if there is lightning detected in the area and it is unsafe to enter the venue.

“The Harden Kite Festival have seating areas, but it is limited. You’re welcome to bring your own camping chairs. Make sure to wear appropriate and comfortable shoes.

“You are very welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy watching the kites fly at the Harden Kite Festival.

We have some picnic tables located throughout. We do not have barbecue facilities on site.”

Even if you’re not a Harden local, come down and enjoy one of the town’s biggest events of the year.
