The Harden-Murrumburrah Anglican Church Op Shop Fashion Parade will be held at the Albury Street shop on September 25 from 10:00am. The event includes a morning tea.
Mandy James of the Op Shop said, “We wanted to get back on track because the other parade we had to hold off due to the renovations to the building. Normally, we have them at the beginning of each season, summer and winter. “We are due for our summer one, so we’ll have a changeover of our clothing stock at the same time. That’s always of interest to people.
“Leading up to it, we’ve got half price and $2 bags. We’ve got weekly sales leading up to the fashion parade. We have roughly 13 models, male and female and one junior, who is 15.

“The community seems to love them, so we are happy to keep putting them on. They are free. There are no entry costs. Donations are welcome, but they are not a must, and you get a free morning tea. Then you get first pick at the summer stock.
“It’s on a first-come, first-served basis. We hold one table back for the nursing home. We’ve managed to have a full house and fit them all in.
“It goes for about an hour to an hour and a half, some-times two hours, because the fashion parade will take a bit to go through while people are sitting there having a cup of tea and a chat. “We don’t open the doors until 10:00am, and we start the fashion parade by about 10:20am so they’re not sitting waiting too long.

“We stretch that out as long as we can, the models go as slow as they can so that everybody gets to have a good look and good laugh. We’ve got a couple of models that are sometimes comedians, or they think they are!
“There’s always a bit of something and nobody knows what is going to rock up. It’s a way of saying thank you for their patronage for the rest of the year.
“The shop is going really well. Our donations have still been flying in thick and fast. We had a couple of little hiccups with the delivery of some rubbish and I mean rubbish, an old stove and microwave and stuff, but we were lucky enough when we put that on Facebook, somebody volunteered to come and take it to the tip. So that was really appreciated because we couldn’t have left it even if we wanted to. But apart from that, our donations are normally wonderful, which means we keep all our prices way down. Our shirts and our clothing are still $3 an item, basically.

“There’s also the $2 bags and we can certainly fill those $2 bags up. “Everyone is invited to come along. You don’t have to be Anglican to come, it’s open for all people, male, female, young or old. We’d love to have you.
“We would not be able to put on our Fashion Parade without the assistance of our wonderful volunteers who help throughout the year.”
