Recently, four students represented MPS at the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Zone Final.
Olive, Rosie, Lana and Sophie all presented their prepared speeches with passion and did an incredible job. They then had to do their impromptu speeches, which are by far the most nerve wracking.
Rosie and Olive had to present an impromptu speech on the topic ‘Rubbish’, while Sophie and Lana had to present theirs on the topic ‘What a nightmare’.
All four girls did an excellent job and didn’t let their nerves affect them!
A big congratulations to Sophie Ford for being awarded a ‘Highly Commended’. Sophie has been a formidable force in public speaking over her years at MPS and this is a wonderful achievement for her! We would also like to congratulate Olive Cavanagh for winning the Year 3/4 section! This hasn’t happened at MPS for a long time, so it’s an incredible achievement for Olive. She will now head to the Regional Finals to be held next term.
I would like to congratulate each student at MPS for their participation in our Public Speaking Program, the standard of speeches continue to get higher every year!
