Sarah Rowan (nee McKay) is a multi-generational Harden local. Recently she has spoken out against the lack of help, not just herself, but many locals have received from insurance companies since the storm that tore through the Twin Towns.
“Enough is enough,” were the raw words of Sarah Rowan this past week as she vocalised a frustration that is shared by many of the Twin Town residents.
Sarah shared her aggravating thoughts, “It’s been four months since the storm, in those four months we’ve been chasing phone calls, waiting for decisions and being stuck in limbo while insurance companies drag their feet.
“Still no resolution, still no rebuild, just delay following delay, constant excuses, and those companies prioritising profits over people. It’s unacceptable.
“These companies, sitting behind polished branding and hollow ‘we care’ slogans, are making decisions that leave real people stuck in limbo, forcing them to live in the wreckage of their ignorance. They don’t even have the decency to look you in the eyes as you pick up the debris of the storm, slowly trying to piece back together your life amidst the rubble.
Sarah speaks for the people, “I’m not speaking just on behalf of myself, this is about all of us – families, small business owners, communities who’ve been forced to put their lives on hold while insurance companies protect their bottom line.
“It impacts us all psycho-logically, it exhausts us all, it makes us feel help-less.It impacts your health, your finances, your future it affects so much.”
