Four of Harden District Bowling Club Bowling Members’, Anne-Marie Phillis, Kelly Daley, Di Peisley and Keryl McKellar attended and played in the State Fours Championships at Ballina in early April.
Anne-Marie said, “We played one game on Monday; two games on Tuesday. Although we didn’t make it through to the finals, on Wednesday we watched the final of both the men’s and women’s matches. It was a great experience to go and watch that level of bowling.
Di said, “Representing our small town club wearing our Harden Bowling Club shirt against Jess Cottell and Australian Rep players was fantastic.”
Kelly said, “The first game will be the most memorable moment, having the opportunity to play against four bowlers that have represented Australia and worldwide. These girls were Karen Murphy, Jamie-Lee Worshop, Jessie Cottell and Selina Goddard from New Zealand.”
Keryl said, “To realise that from such a tiny bowling club, what can be achieved. The women we played against were very friendly to us. Proud to put Harden on the map.”
All ladies had a wonderful experience and would be ecstatic to have the chance to represent Harden Bowling Club again if the opportunity arose.
