Harden’s senior community will have a valuable opportunity to connect with essential service providers at the Harden Country Club’s first Senior Expo, on March 19, 2025. This event, running from 10am to 3pm, is designed to showcase the diverse range of services available to seniors, their families, and carers within the region.
The Seniors Expo will bring together a variety of local businesses, community groups and support networks. Whether living independently or in care facilities, seniors will be able to gather information on the many services and resources available to them.
Some of the local organisations participating include Flexible Care Services Harden-Murrumburrah, Baptist Care, Mercy Health, Harden Grange, Hydro Pool and Physiotherapy, and Service NSW, among others. Local gyms and health providers will also be present, offering insights on staying active and healthy as we age. Other groups attending include the local Art, Painting, and Camera Clubs, as well as the Harden Golf Club, which will highlight senior-friendly activities.
Shawn Bradley, one of the Managers of the Harden Country Club, emphasised the importance of this event.
“This Expo will highlight the incredible services available to seniors in our community,” he said. “We’re offering information on everything from in home care services and aged care homes to local activities, fitness programs, and resources for seniors.”
The event is free to attend, and attendees can enjoy tea, coffee, and lunch at the Club’s cafe. “We want everyone to come, have a chat, and learn about what’s available to them,” Bradley added. “It’s a chance to meet local service providers and hear from experts about important topics for seniors.”
The Seniors Expo is the first event of its kind in Harden, and Bradley hopes it will be the first of many. “This Expo is a response to feedback from the community. People were saying there wasn’t much happening for seniors, so we decided to step in and fill that gap,” he said. “We hope for a great turnout and look forward to making this an annual event. The more support we get, the more we can do for our seniors.”
For those looking to attend, the Expo will run from 10am to 3pm at the Harden Country Club, and talks will be scheduled throughout the day. Following the Expo, there will be a Senior’s Lunch with entertainment on March 20, offering a two-course meal for just $25.
Bradley is optimistic about the future of senior-focused events in Harden.
“This is just the beginning. If the community gets behind it, we’ll continue to run more events for seniors, making sure they know what resources and services are out there for them.”
