Harden Soccer Meet and Greet

Now that regos have opened up for the Harden Soccer Club, the committee are putting together a meet and greet on March 28 at Robert’s Park from 4:30pm until 5:30pm to help encourage kids to give it a go.

President Max Giles said, “The coaches are pretty well set for the teams for this year, so it will just be a matter of coming down and seeing if we can get any more registrations because there could be a few hanging off until we see what numbers we’ve got.

“We are encouraging everyone to come down and have a free sausage sizzle and we can see how we are shaping up for the season.

“Last year we fielded a team in every division. We had two 5-6s teams, one 7-8 team, one 9-10 team and an 11-12-13s.

“The season went really well, there was a really happy, positive vibe about the club. We had 40-45 registrations last year and we are always hoping to get more than that but we will just have to wait and see.

“Soccer is a wonderful game for young kids to play and to learn the eye co-ordination and start learning how to work within a team and we do have a bit of fun while we are playing. It’s all about encouragement and trying to get the kids to do as best they can.

“It’s all about the kids, not about us as a committee. We do also have the coaching staff that we had last year.

“Anyone can turn up. There might be a little bit of rejigging around but every-body that coached last year put their hand up and said ‘yes, I’m happy to coach again.

“We are always welcome to whoever. The more the merrier and hopefully we can have a great season for 2025. We had our AGM last Wednesday.
