Devils Set Their Sights on Big 2025

Will Glover debuted for Harden in 2024, he is running out behind Captain Coach Jack Alcorn.

The Harden Red Devils are getting ready for their up-coming season, which kicks off on April 12th. The pre-season is officially underway, with the team focusing on building fitness and preparing for a suc-cessful campaign. Club President Charlie Brown shared that the squad has been working hard to establish a solid fitness foundation.

“Right now, we’re focusing on getting the fitness levels of the team up to speed,” Brown explained.

“Coach Jack Alcorn has been working behind the scenes to ensure we’re as prepared as possible for the season ahead. As the weeks progress, the intensity of their training will increase.

“In the coming weeks, we’ll ramp up our preseason training,” Brown said. “By the time the season starts, we’ll be ready to hit the field.

“The team is going through some changes this year, with several seasoned players moving on and several younger athletes joining the squad. We’ve had a few of the older guys leave, but we’ve got a lot of younger players coming in,” Brown noted.

“It’s all about finding the best way for us to play as a team, figuring out the best game style and management to fit the players we have.”

The influx of new talent has brought fresh energy to the club, and the team is excited about what lies ahead.

“We’ve got a lot of new players, which is exciting,” Brown said.

“Ollie Murphy and Ollie Minehan are both back, and we have a host of young players who have either just moved to the area or come back home for a short time—or for good. It’s a great time to bring in some fresh blood.”

“One of the key events on the pre-season calendar is the Boorowa Beer and Rugby Festival, set for March 29. The men’s team will participate in three fast-paced games, offering an opportunity for both players and coaching staff to test their strategies and assess the new players. “It will be a great chance for us to see how the team is shaping up,” said Brown.

“With so many new faces, it’s important to see how they play in different positions, and I’m sure Jack will experiment with them in roles they may not be familiar with to see how they perform.”

The Red Devils are also calling on anyone interested in trying rugby to reach out.

“If anyone is keen to give rugby a go, we’d love to hear from them,” Brown said.

With fresh faces, a new approach, and the leadership of Coach Alcorn, the Harden Red Devils are set to make a strong start to their season. Fans can look forward to an exciting year ahead as the team prepares to take the field in April.
