We’re excited to announce the first Silo Sounds Inc recital for 2025! This is set down for Sunday, 9thFebruary, with 2.00 pm start, at the Ross Memorial Church, Murrumburrah.
Three long-time musical friends, all with solid international reputations, will come together and take you on a sizzling summer serenade. Well-known local clarinettist Dr Deborah de Graaff will be joined by Robert Harris (viola) and Dr Tonya Lemoh (piano). Concert-goers will remember Tonya from previous occasions with her spectacular performance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and her fun mentoring work with our town’s children.
Summer Serenade will feature all three friends playing together in trio style to open and close the program. Interestingly, many composers wrote works for clarinet, viola and piano. So, the group has chosen a Mozart Trio, four movements from a Max Bruch work and a Promenade by modern composer Kristopher Henning Spike. In between these items, Tonya will perform a beautiful nocturne by Australian piano educator and composer Dulcie Holland, whilst joining with Deborah and Robert for further delights.
It’s a lazy afternoon to relax and enjoy. Bring along a cushion for those church pews if you must (but we have plenty available). Take in the ambience of the 110 year old building with superb acoustics to set off the instruments including, of course, the amazing Yamaha S6X grand piano. This concert grand is settling well into its position now with extensive use over the past three concert seasons.
After the recital, all is not over. Tickets include the scrumptious high tea, along with our wine tasting and gourmet cheese selection in the adjoining church hall. This will also be an opportunity to talk with our artists over a cuppa or glass of wine.
Tickets are available online (see flyer on this page) but also obtainable at the door where EFTPOS is available. For further enquiries, contact Stewart on 0423 090 912.
