The Harden Hawks will be paying homage to one of their favourite sons when they update and refurbish the Sam Dyball Memorial Scoreboard at McLean Oval this year. The club will be partnering with the community to ensure that the board will be updated. They will be hosting a 7’s cricket challenge.

The challenge, to held on Saturday 24th March, 2018, is offering $600 in prize money, courtesy of Peter Joseph of Harden Fuel Supplies. It commences from 9.30am, although this is to be confirmed. There will be a bar and barbecue running throughout the day, along with lovely events. Be warned; players who drop catches will attract a fine.

Nomination forms can be collected from Panthers, or alternatively contact Polly or Maryanne, who will assist. Teams will need to meet the follow criteria: 2 x females, 1 x 15 years or younger, 1 x 50+ year old, and 3 others. Presentations and entertainment will follow the day of fun at the club’s major sponsor, the Carrington Hotel.

Sam Dyball was tragically killed on March 6 1999 in Harden. The talented footballer played his Rugby League with the Harden Hawks and was a much loved member of the community.
