Trinity Catholic School held their annual Presentation Night on Tuesday evening, which saw an array of students recognised for their numerous achievements and contributions throughout the year. The night opened with an address from Trinity principal, Marylou Gorham, before next year’s 2018 Kindergarten class were presented with their library bags. Major Awards were then presented, with Maddison Johnson receiving the Father Keogh Award for her display of school spirit and involvement in school and parish life. Angelina Mayhew-Lang received the Monsignor Hennessy Award, in recognition of her leadership skills, participation in school and parish life and role model qualities.

The School Citizenship and Spirit Award was received by Tykieta Leitner, due to her display of school spirit through her enthusiasm and participation in school activities. Brody Schofield’s consistent drive to his best, and ability to positively face challenges earned him the Tom and Ann Blanchard Award. In recognition of her progress throughout the year, Samantha Beal was awarded the Carla Stewart Memorial Award. Maddison Johnson’s representation of Trinity at high level sporting events saw her receive the Bendigo Bank Sporting Excellence Award. A student from each grade received the Christian Leadership Award to recognise their witness of Christian values.

From Year 1, Charlie Jackson and Bill Corkhill received the award, Angus Oldfield from Year 2, Poppy Lucas from Year 3, Sophie Barnes from Year 4, Josie Davis-Chard from Year 5, and Angelina Mayhew-Lang from Year 6. The Effort and Commitment Award also saw a student from each grade recognised, for their constant striving to achieve their highest potential. Ryan Sumich from Year 1 received the award, Jaslyn Killick from Year 2, Letitia Tyrrell from Year 3, Sara Collins from Year 4, Oscar Phillis Year 5, and Charlotte Wegmann from Year 6 received the Academic Achievement Award.

The Prime Ministers for 2018 were then announced, with Bella Cooper and Zarlie Quinn receiving the top spots. House Captains were also announced, with Oscar Phillis and Bella Cooper as Red House Captains, Ty Leitner and Jose Davis-Chard as Blue House Captains, and Zarlie Quinn and Brody Schofield as Gold House Captains. The night was finished off with dance performances by the students, and a series of Christmas Carols to see off the school year, and welcome the festive season.
