Wombat held their second annual Day On The Grass over the weekend, benefiting from a day of beautiful weather and drawing a sizeable crowd of people. The event, which was first held last year, saw an eclectic group of artists and bands converge on the village for a day of music and socialising. Held on the green behind the village pub, the day was a fantastic opportunity for people from all walks of life to experience the best of village life, while enjoying an array of musical acts. Headlined by the legendary Australian band, ‘The Choirboys’, the event was well attended, hosting hundreds of people from across the area, and indeed, the state. Also playing at the event was James Southwell Band, The Sammy Owen Blues Band, The Millard’s, and a host of other local bands. Local musician Ross Everdell, believed the event was a success, saying “It was a great day with fantastic weather – hopefully next year we can expand it, making it bigger and better.” Attendees complimented the atmosphere of the event, and thought the location of the camping facilities made for a great weekend.
