McLean Oval, Harden Murrumburrah’s home of Rugby League will host today’s finals which will see half the sides finish their season, and the other half continuing on to George Tooke Grand Finals at Crookwell next week. Out and about this morning we grabbed a snap of the frosty surface and noticed one car on the hill already. With a top of 19 degrees forecast it should be a glorious day.

The Harden Hawks Rugby League Football Club have recently taken out the George Tooke Shield Club Championship and witnessed their undefeated Youth League side move into the Grand Final, after a 40-22 win against Crookwell, in freezing conditions on Sunday.

The Hawks will be looking to book Grand Final berths for the Ladies League Tag side and the Men’s First Grade side today at McLean Oval, when The Hawkettes take on the Crookwell She Devils at 1:30pm.

Crookwell’s First Grade side have already booked their spot in next Saturday’s Grand Final and secured the club a home GF after defeating the Hawks in extra time on Sunday.

The Hawkettes can spoil the party for the Crookwell ladies and win their way through to a rematch of the 2016 GF, where they defeated Bungendore at Harden.

Earlier in the day at 12:00pm, Crookwell will attempt to overcome the North Canberra Bears to book their place against our young Hawks.

2:45pm will see the focus turn to Harden’s First Grade side who will take on the North Canberra Bears. The Bears claimed last year’s Premiership after downing the Hawks on the maroon and whites home ground in the GF in 2016.

The Hawks have all the talent needed to win this match and go on to win their first Premiership since 2009.

The Bears have a knack of scoring against the run of play and Harden will have to shut down their outside Backs who have proven damaging in the past.

The Carrington Hotel will be very busy tonight if the Hawks can book one, or both sides into next weeks finale.

The Times would like to congratulate the club on a great year and look forward to today’s matches.

Hawks Hawks Hawks!!!
