The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party is putting the call out to regional New South Wales to find candidates in every electorate, including Cootamundra, for the 2019 state election. Member for Orange, the Shooter’s Phil Donato, pulled off an historic win when he was elected at a by-election last November.

Mr Donato is the first Shooters, Fishers and Farmers member to be elected in the NSW Lower House. His victory in Orange ended the Nationals’ 69-year stranglehold on the regional electorate, and the devastating swing against the Party prompted Leader and NSW’s then Deputy Premier Troy Grant to resign.

“It was the first time the National Party had lost this safe seat since 1947, and one of the few times an established Party took a seat from the Nationals,” Mr Donato said. “Our Party has six elected representatives in three State Parliaments across the country, and we want to take that further. “We’re looking for people that reflect our culture, are of good character, and are already contributing to their local community.

“Together we can shake up the complacency of current representatives and ensure we have a better representation in regional areas.” For more information go to www.shootersfishersandfarmers.org.au Application close September 1, 2017.
