Craig Lawrence, pictured with a group of Kuwaiti oil magnates, is an economics consultant. Craig was educated at Murrumburrah High School before continuing his education overseas in the US and Indonesia where his father, John, was part of the diplomatic service until his retirement. Craig is the grandson of Barbara Lawrence of Harden and operates his own consultancy business out of Brisbane. Craig had many friends in this area from his former school days and remembers well growing up in the twin towns. John said, “I was back in Harden recently and thought the town looked great with its new streetscape.” Craig has found that his consultancy business takes him to countries such as China, Malaysia, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and the Middle East. Craig is married and has one child. John spent the bulk of his time in the diplomatic service in countries such as Thailand, US, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, West Africa, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Nairobi and Horne Island. He says it is great to be back home in Canberra, where he and his wife are enjoying their retirement. It appears that like his father, Craig is destined to spend time away from his country of birth, which I am sure he appreciates when he has down-time to spend with his wife and child in Brisbane.
