Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson advises motorists changed traffic conditions will be in place later this month as safety improvement work starts on Burley Griffin Way near McMahon’s Reef Road, east of Harden-Murrumburrah.

Katrina said the NSW Government had allocated $560,000 for the project to improve road user safety.

“Roads and Maritime Services will carry out the work, which involves widening the road in both directions, repairing the road surface, clearing vegetation along the road shoulders to provide better sight lines for motorists, and installing safety barriers and signs,” Katrina said.

“Work will start on Wednesday 26 April and take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting.

“Work will be carried out on weekdays between 6.30am and 5.30pm and from 7am to 5pm on Saturdays.

“Lane closures, traffic control and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists throughout the project.

“Motorists should plan ahead, allow extra time for their journeys and follow the direction of traffic control and signs.

“Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this important road improvement.”
