Twin Town Times staff attended Newson Park tonight to visit the Cenotaph at 815pm. We would like to share the following poem and photographs with our readers.

Photos taken with an iPhone with the assistance of car headlights.

Dawn Service Newson Park commences 6am.

……………………………………………………….

He stands silent, hasn’t moved a bone.

A son, a brother a friend, this is his final home.

He cannot move, yet he stands fast.

There’s no other place he’d be, his duties, to be last.

He watches over our sons with pride, the sentry standing by their side.

Lit up in light, or in the dark, the sentry stands in Newson Park.

The names he knows them all as friends, the sentry stands there till the end.
