The 2nd Harden Truck & Tractor Show was held over the weekend at the Harden Murrumburrah Showground, with participants and spectators coming from all over the state. 120 vehicles participated in the show, with 87 trucks and tractors, and 30 classic cars.

“It was brilliant, I couldn’t be happier,” said Kevin Sharp, President of the Harden Truck & Tractor Club. “We had close to a thousand people come through the gate.”

Participants came from Tumut, Gundagai, Temora, Grenfell, West Wyalong, Dubbo, Molong, Coonabarabran, Oberon, Gosford, Sydney, Wollongong and Yass, as well as featuring local trucks.

“We had a 1924-25 T-Model all the way up to the latest Kenworths,” said Kevin.

For Kevin, a former truck driver, one of the highlights was a 1954 Peterbilt truck. “I had never seen one before. It was still left-hand drive as it had been imported. It was a cab-over with a hand-built aluminium sleeper cab with all these patterns laid into it,” he said.

The Best Working Truck award was won by local man, Ken Whatman with his Kenworth. The Best Classic Truck was won by Mr Fazzari of Eugowra with his C1800 International. The Best Tractor award went to Gary & Marilyn Evans of Oberon with their Farmall 100, and the Premier Classic Car award was won by a HK Holden Premier Sedan. The People’s Choice award went to Robert McInerney of Tumut with his Kenworth.

“We received great support from local transport companies who had a large number of their trucks on show. I must thank the Harden Murrumburrah Historical Society for the huge effort they put in each year, also the Harden Men’s Shed who did the parking and the Harden SES who provided first aid,” said Kevin. “It would be remiss of me if I did not thank all the members of The Harden Historic Truck and Tractor Club for their hard work.”

The Harden Truck & Tractor Club would also like to thank the sponsors of the show: Harden Bearings & Hardware; Bendigo Bank Harden; Shannons Insurance; Vintage Trucks and Commercials Magazine; HO-CL Premium Hydro-Synthetic Oils; The Harden Oil Company, and;
Harden Fuel Supplies.

The 3rd Annual Harden Truck and Tractor Show will be held on the 20th of March, 2015.
